MY STORY

At 17 years old , my peers were not the greatest inspirations, my childhood was very different to others, and throughout my life there had been many challenges. We didn’t have a lot of money , we did live on council estates, benefits were normal and drugs and crime were always very present in that world .. in my world, and having the wrong kind of people around you at a very impressionable age was overwhelming at times .. 

I am not saying that I had it any harder than others, I know others have experienced far worse but it was far from easy. I am not saying that all of my childhood was tarnished but looking back there were many negative experiences that could have impacted me a lot worse than I have allowed them to.

I had many times feeling alone, many times feeling scared , many times feeling trapped, but i also had people around me that cared and for that I am forever grateful. Not everybody in that situation has this.

I could have let it affect me in the wrong way, the negative way, I could have allowed it to shape and define who I am as a person .. BUT like I said.

I chose to be different .. I chose to make the difference , no way was I ever going to let somebody else’s actions affect my life.

I CHOSE ME ! And I determine how I live my life .. I have the control.

So at 17 – this was it, my time to grow up

I have always worked hard since about 12 , I always wanting to make money. From every experience there is a positive lesson, and my experiences made me realize that in order to make money you had to get out there and be successful yourself.

So having a child was not going to make it any different, just more of a challenge and I thrive on challenges.

So from cleaning to retail, and then being promoted at 17 to assistant duty manager, I knew what I wanted.

At 19 I had the realization that I needed a stable income for me and my family, a skill that was going to help me financially support them .. I chose Accountancy, at this point I neither enjoyed or really wanted to , but i knew it was a sensible option, it made sense.

A lot of decisions are often made with our head rather than our hearts.

I attended night school, day release and finally passed my exams, this allowed me to build my own business.

It was time that I realized that in order to be successful I had to create my OWN OPPORTUNITIES.

Around this time I was also working for a Business, which I was brought into as a partner. Again when opportunities arise you do not miss, they may not come round twice, and i learnt many valuable lessons here.

I worked here for over 15 years as well as running my own business but something was still missing.
